ORANGE COUNTY PLAYWRIGHTS ALLIANCE

We're the Orange County Playwrights Alliance (OCPA). We bring together more than two dozen professional, successful playwrights who write new works for the stage, informed by their diverse life experiences and inspired by their imaginations. 

In 2025, we celebrate our 30th anniversary. We are playing our role in the future of American theatre - writing plays that speak to the here and now.

• Johnna Adams' World Builders: A Love Story gets a short run at The Main (Santa Clarita) June 26-29 courtesy of Matchbox Theatre Company.

• Kevin James Arnold's The Frog Is Dead has made it to the next round of Full Circle Players' Emerging Voices: A New Play Festival, and gets a staged reading at The Box (Riverside) on May 10 @ 6:00pm (tickets are available here).

• Dana Hammer's short play Two Martini Glasses was produced in the latest edition of Force of Nature Productions' RUSH festival at Loft Ensemble (North Hollywood) April 25-27.

• Craig Holland's musical for young audiences, Squirrelock Holmes gets its world premiere May 19-20 at No Square Theatre (Laguna Beach) as part of Laguna Playhouse's Youth Conservatory spring session.

• Baylee Shlichtman's Good Romans is one of the winners of THE SEVEN, the annual national 10-minute play competition of Fusion Theatre Company (Albuquerque, NM). 

• Jordan R. Young's Bela Lugosi Meets Edna St. Vincent Millay, featuring Rose London and directed by Christine Cummings, gets a "Pay-What-You-Will Special Preview Performance" at Irvine United Congregational Church on May 24 at 7:30pm, presented by The Wayward Artist. Learn more here.
