Johnna Adams: Verge Theater Company just produced Skinless at Belmont University (Nashville, TN); Gidion’s Knot just order homework help ended a run at Bridge Street Theatre (Catskill, NY) and just had a readers theatre presentation at San Juan Community Theatre (Friday Harbor, WA). Love the Body Positive, a one-act from the Nude on the Beach trilogy, will be produced next month by the American Association for Nude Recreation – Western Region at the Underground Theatre as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival (the actors will be nude and nudity is mandatory for all audience members). AANR also produced Love the Body Positive in a brief February run at the Two Roads Theatre in Studio City. Johnna also appeared in the April 21 edition of the Drunken! Careening! Writers! reading series at KGB Bar (New York, NY).
John Franceschini: Trapped in Limbo will be produced in New Voices Playwrights Theatre’s Summer Voices 2016 show, opening June 11 at Stage Door Rep in Anaheim.
Karen JP Howes: Gentleman’s Pact was presented in a reading at the first-ever New Play Lab at the William Inge Theatre Festival (Independence, KS). And of course, our OCPA Presents… series presents her full-length play Bad Moon Rising at Modjeska Playhouse (Lake Forest) on June 18.
John Lane: Front Desk will be produced in in New Voices Playwrights Theatre’s Summer Voices show; Small Claims received a staged reading at the Edendale Library (Echo Park) in May, courtesy of Drama West Productions.
Jeffrey Lo: TheatreFIRST (Berkeley) has commissioned Jeffrey (and fellow playwright Adrienne Walters) to write a new full-length play, Beneath the Tall Tree, for its 2016-17 season. Another commissioned full-length, Spending the End of the World on OKCupid, has its world premiere in November at Ohlone College (Fremont).
Tira Palmquist: Brimmer Street Theatre Company produces And Then They Fell in September at the Atwater Village Theatre (Los Angeles). Her linked one-acts Fire Road and Smoke Front were just produced as The Telematic Project at UC Irvine.
Joni Ravenna: Blind Ambition gets a staged reading June 6 at Theater for the New City (New York, NY).
Nicholas Thurkettle: On the Edge Theatre Productions gave The Most Important Person in the Universe a staged reading at the Laguna Hills Community Center in early May.
