ORANGE COUNTY PLAYWRIGHTS ALLIANCE

We're the Orange County Playwrights Alliance (OCPA). We bring together more than two dozen professional, successful playwrights who write new works for the stage, informed by their diverse life experiences and inspired by their imaginations. 

In 2025, we celebrate our 30th anniversary. We are playing our role in the future of American theatre - writing plays that speak to the here and now. 

MEMBER NEWS 

• AJ Layague's full-length play Cowgirl Katarungan's Recipe for Adobo has been selected for the Curtis Theatre's 2025-26 AMPLIFY series. You can see it next May (May 17) at the Curtis in Brea. The script was also a semifinalist for the 2025 Bay Area Playwrights Festival (San Francisco).

• Ron Scott Stevens' screenplay Eyes Closed, co-written with Chase Daseler, is now available on Amazon. Here's the link where you can learn more and buy.

• Mark Whicker's Bailey Drake gets a staged reading at Trinity Theatre Company (San Diego) on August 24 at 2:00 PM.

• Jordan R. Young's Bela Lugosi Meets Edna St. Vincent Millay, featuring Rose London and directed by Christine Cummings, was produced in the Hollywood Fringe in June.
