FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR, OCPA EMBARKS ON SOMETHING SPECIAL ... A PLAYWRIGHT COHORT
THAT DEVELOPS AND PRESENTS NEW WORKS SPECIFICALLY FROM EARLY-CAREER OC DRAMATISTS!
Angela Apodaca's American Cholita, Rachel Bailey's Grandma and Elizabeth Isela Szekeresh's Soft Core will be written and developed over the summer and presented in staged readings in the fall, all at Laguna Beach's No Square Theatre.
We thank Joe Lauderdale and the board of No Square for their support of our cohort - the only group of its kind of OC, led by OCPA playwright Baylee Shlichtman.
EMBARK developed and presented new work from AJ Layague, Vita Muccia, Cara Sanchez and Anatalia Valles in 2024, and we are looking forward to these boldly written, adventurous new works arriving for 2025!
